For us, leather craftsmanship is not just a craft, but a generations-long tradition, a refined craftsmanship and a way of life. Our family has passed this heritage down from generation to generation, shaping the texture, scent and character of leather for centuries. Today, with the Redpardus brand, we reinterpret this deep-rooted know-how with contemporary aesthetics and the highest quality.
Our story starts from the days when our great-grandfather Eyüp Güvenç worked as a tanner in the summer and served the palace as a sultan’s pehlivan in the winter.. His son, Ali Güvenç, managed the tannery of vaketa and leather tannery and produced traditional sandals and yemeni shoes, turning this craft into an art. His sons Hasan, Hüseyin and Mustafa Güvenç took leatherworking one step further and operated in a wide range of fields such as raw leather trade, shoe and bag production.
Hasan Güvenç’s son, Remzi Güvenç, entered the tannery at a young age, starting with a retail store and managing the marketing and accounting processes. While his brother Muzaffer Güvenç managed raw leather procurement and foreign relations, Ragıp Güvenç studied chemical engineering at Istanbul University and brought a scientific perspective to the production process.
My father Ali Güvenç, who grew up next to my grandfather Hasan Güvenç, became familiar with the discipline of the leather factory from an early age, and after completing his leather chemical engineering education at the West Deutsche Gerberschule in Germany, he became the responsible manager of production.
Today, I, Mert Güvenç, bring this deep-rooted heritage back to life under the Redpardus brand. Combining the craftsmanship and elegance of traditional leather craftsmanship with a modern design approach, we produce unique products for those who do not compromise on quality and originality. Every stitch, every detail is a reflection of our family history.
